Transitions

At our October Delegates Assembly, we bid Chris Baumann a fond
farewell and thanked him for the six years of service he gave to our
community and CHANGE.

Chris is now working for the labor union,
UNITE HERE, as an Organizer for the Southeast region. UNITE
(formerly the Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees)
and HERE (Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International
Union) represents workers in apparel, retail, laundry, distribution centers,
hotels, casinos, foodservice, airport concessions, and restaurants.

We also welcomed Sharee Fowler as the new Associate Organizer
beginning December 1, 2006. Sharee is a native of this area and has
spent the last seven years working as the Coordinator of the Domestic
Violence Community Council with Family Services, Inc. She was
involved in the initial efforts to build CHANGE and has served as a
Co-Chair for the Jobs and Economic Development Action Team, as well
